A Hidden Lagoon Worth the Whole Trip

Koh Hong's centrepiece is a perfectly enclosed limestone lagoon, completely hidden from the sea. You swim in through a narrow gap in the rock and suddenly you're surrounded by cliffs on every side. The water is still, it's genuinely quiet in there, and it never feels crowded.

All of our tours include time at the lagoon. The speedboat tour gives you the longest stop there.

"We did the speedboat tour and it was worth every baht. Four islands, great snorkeling, the hidden lagoon. I honestly didn't expect it to be this good. Would go back without hesitation."

"We took the private tour for our honeymoon. The team made it feel really special and even set up a little lunch on the beach. Koh Hong was magical. Totally worth it."

A Bit More About Koh Hong

Koh Hong is a small group of islands inside a protected national park, about 12 kilometres from Krabi. You can only visit for the day, but honestly, a day here is hard to top anywhere in Thailand.

The hidden lagoon

The best thing about Koh Hong is the hidden lagoon. You kayak or swim through a gap in the rock and suddenly you're inside a circular bay ringed by cliffs. It's quiet, beautiful and unlike anything else in the area.

Which tour should you choose?

The longtail trip is the more laid-back option, smaller boats, quieter beaches and a slower pace. It's great for couples and small families. The speedboat tour covers more ground: you'll visit all four islands in the group and get the most snorkeling time. If you're travelling as a group or celebrating something, the private tour is worth considering for the flexibility and exclusivity.

Not sure which one to go for? See our full island comparison guide or chat with us and we'll help you decide.

FAQ

Common Questions

Can I visit Koh Hong without a tour?
The islands are inside a protected national park and you need a licensed boat to get there. All visitors come by organised tour, which keeps things relaxed for everyone and helps protect the park.
What is the national park fee?
The entry fee is 300 THB per adult and 150 THB per child (4 to 14 years). It's collected at the park in cash and is separate from your tour price.
What's the best time of year to visit?
November to April is the dry season, calm seas, clear water and near-perfect visibility for snorkeling. May to October brings the southwest monsoon, and some days tours are cancelled due to waves.
Can children come on the tours?
Yes, all tours are family-friendly. Children are very welcome and life jackets come in all sizes. Our guides are great with kids. For very young children, the longtail tour is the gentler choice.
What's the cancellation policy?
You can cancel for free up to 24 hours before your tour. If we cancel due to weather, you get a full refund or a free rebooking. No stress, no complicated process.
