Koh Hong Tides Guide
The entrance to the Koh Hong lagoon is a narrow gap in the limestone cliff face. At high tide, the water level rises enough to make the passage too low and too narrow to swim through safely. At low tide, there can be exposed rock that makes entry awkward. The sweet spot is mid-tide, roughly two to three hours either side of high water.
What This Means for Your Tour
We schedule all tours around the tidal window. Your guide will know the tide times for your specific day and will time the lagoon visit accordingly. In practical terms, this means the departure time for your tour is partly determined by the tide, not just sunrise or preference.
The tide chart above shows you exactly what to expect on any given day, so you can pick a date that works.
🌊 Check before you book: The live tide chart at the top of this page updates daily. If you're planning a trip, scroll up and check today's tide to get a feel for the pattern. Tides shift by about 50 minutes each day, so the timing on your actual visit may be slightly different.
